Just in case you were wondering, here’s some information about me.
I grew up in Wainuiomata, a small town near Wellington in New Zealand. I trained at Victoria University Wellington for my BDes in Illustration in the late 1990’s and since then I’ve been working freelance on all sorts of jobs and for all sorts of clients.
My work switches between advertising/agency work, and illustration and design of children’s picture books. I enjoy being involved in the creative process in both fields. My illustration style is varied but overall maintains a simple and graphic sensibility, often with a humorous or emotive edge. There is frequently a graphic design component to the work I do.
I love to illustrate for children. I also enjoy typographic and product packaging work, and character design. I like to explore new ideas and mix media to create new and interesting styles of artwork. When possible I contribute to projects that encourage care and awareness of our natural environment and the creatures we share the Earth with.
My husband, son, various rescued animals and I live by the beach in beautiful Mt Maunganui, we grow veges and flowers and fruit, and not a day goes past that I don’t feel very lucky to be here.
I would love to hear from you!
